The temple is white, and in front of it is an old building called a Mandapa that is important for its own architectural reasons. This temple looks very ordinary and is surrounded by green paddy fields. Its history is fantastic, though; anyone who learns about it will be surprised.
Trilinga Rameshwara Temple, Tandur, in Kamareddy District
And the temple's name, Trilinga Rameshwara Temple Tandur Kamareddy, is written in orange on the wall at the top of the temple. One can see the three temple towers, or Gopura, on the wall at the entrance to the temple. The name of the temple is also written on that wall in orange. At the entrance are statues of two women from the Kakatiya period. There are also designs in green that are very nice to look at.
This temple is built entirely out of stone. No cement or mud is used in its construction. It is said that the Chalukyas built this temple and that the Kakatiyas finished it. No matter which side you look at, this temple looks like a Shiva Linga. The beautiful architecture of this temple makes it easy to guess that it was built in the 11th century.
The three lingas are called Rama Bheema and Soma. Lord Rama, Lakshmana, and Seetha put them here. In front of this temple is a statue of Nandi. The Nandi statue has amazing architecture. When you touch the Nandi, it feels like you are touching an honest Nandi. When the sun comes up in the morning, it shines on this Shiva Linga. On the other side of this temple is a hill called Veeranna Gutta. People think that there is a path from this temple to that hill.
One of the Shiva Lingas was destroyed along the way, but they later got another from Kashi and put it here. Across from this temple is the Manjeera river, which looks like the Shiva Linga itself when seen from the top. Inside the temple is also a black-stone statue of Shiva and Parvathy. Laksha Bilwarchana is one of the special poojas done in this temple. Mahashivaratri and Karthika Pournami are also times when special poojas are done.
Since King Kini came to power in 1978, this temple has been rebuilt, and many changes have been made. People from both Maharastra and Bangalore visit this temple to pray.
