Hemachala Narasimha Swamy Temple

The deity Volcano mountain is where Narasimha Swamy lives. Priests say that Idols look like people with hair on their chests. If we use our forefinger to touch the chest of the Idol, we can see that the finger goes right through the rock.

If we take the finger off, we can see the trench that was made when the chest was pressed. This is what makes the Hemachala Temple unique. The Idol is 9.2 feet tall, and water comes out of the naval. This water is used as theertham by the people who worship it. People who believe in the water think that it saves them from their sins and illnesses.

The sandal is in the water that flows from Maha Vishnu's navel, and people come from far away to see this Chandana Dhravam

History of Hemachala Narasimha Swamy Temple

The temple was built before the year 600, so it has been around for 4776 years. The hill was called Hemachala by the wise man Agastya. People say that Ravana, the king of the demons, gave this place to Shurpanaka, his sister. Nearly 14,000 demons led by Khara Dushana were killed here by Lord Rama.

The water comes from where Lord Koneru's feet are. The stream was named Chintamani Jalapatham by Rani Rudrama Devi. The State Government protects the area around the Hemachala Narasimha Swamy temple because it has a lot of different kinds of plants.

The temple is kept hidden on purpose so that it can be respected as a holy place. Recently, the priests put their ancestors' rules to use and bought the temple through the Endowments Department. During the Godavari Pushkar, which took place in 2003, the temple was repaired.
