Gadwal Fort in Gadwel District of Telangana State - How to Reach & Timings: Gadwal is a city in the Indian state of Telangana. It is also the district headquarters for the Jogulamba Gadwal district. It is 188 kilometres (117 miles) from Hyderabad, which is the state capital and is a state assembly constituency. In the past, Gadwal was the capital of Gadwal Samsthanam, under the control of the Nizam of Hyderabad. Gadwal used to be in the area of Hyderabad-Karnataka called Raichur.

The Fort is also home to the giant cannon in the country, which is also worth mentioning and seeing. The 32-foot-long, artistic cannon was a sign of Pedda Soma Bhupala's victory over Nawab of Kurnool. After beating the Nawab in battle, the ruler Somandri took the cannon from him.
The government of Telangana is taking steps to make the Fort a significant tourist attraction and to protect its history. The Gadwal Fort is easy to get to because it is close to Gadwl Town. You can get to the town from Hyderabad, Mamhabubnagar, or Raichur. The town is 16 km from Erravelli Junction on NH 7, which runs from Bangalore to Hyderabad.
