Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam in Bhadradri Kothagudem District: How to Reach & Timings: Lord Rama lived there, so it is a holy place that draws a lot of people from all over the world (The seventh incarnation of SriMahavishnu). The sacred river Godavari flows around this hill, where the famous shrine Bhadrachalam is. The name comes from the word Bhadragiri (Mountain of Bhadra-a boon child of Meru and Menaka). Ithihasas says that this shrine has been important since the time of the Ramayana. In "Dandakaranya" of the Ramayana, Rama, his wife Sita, and his brother Laxmana spent their "vanavasa" on this hill. Parnashaala, which is connected to the famous Golden Deer and is where Sita was taken by Ravana, is also close to this temple site. Long after Ramavatara, Bhagawan Mahavishnu appeared as Rama again at this Mandir site to keep a promise to His Bhakta Bhadra, who had been doing Tapas for Yugas and praying for the blessing of Bhagawan Sri Ramachandra Murthy.
