Dichpally Ramalayam Temple in Nizamabad District: Dichpally Ramalayam is approximately 20 kilometres from Nizamabad on the way to Hyderabad. The Dichpally Ramalayam temple was constructed in the 14th century by Kakatiya Kings and is one of the oldest temples in Nizamabad. The temple was made of black and white basalt stone and had the most exemplary architecture and craftsmanship of goddesses, animals, devils, and Khajuraho style erotic buildings. This old temple contains unique sculptures with exquisite carvings on the temple walls, ceilings, pillars, and entrance frames.

This temple has 105 steps and a pedestrian subway that connects it to Raghunadha Temple in Nizamabad.

Thousands of devotees attend the temple during the Sri Rama Navami festival. The Dichpally Ramalayam, made in white and black Basalt stone, is one of the best examples of stone building. The entry to the stairs is framed by a magnificent gateway called "Keerthi Thorana," which is intricately etched and reflects the Kakatitya architectural style. Every year during the monsoons, the temple's surroundings fill with water, giving the temple the appearance of an island.

How to reach Dichpally Ramalayam Temple


The bus stop and train station in Nizamabad are both very close to a place called Ramalayam. Visitors can get on a bus every 15 minutes, or they can hire a private vehicle. There are many ways to get to Nizamabad. Buses go there from all of the big cities in Telangana, like Hyderabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, and Khammam.
