Bhadrakali Temple in Hanumakonda District: How to Reach & Timings: According to the records that can be found on the walls of the temple, it is believed that King Pulakeshin II of the Chalukya dynasty constructed the temple in the year 625 A.D. to commemorate his victory over the Vengi region of Andhra Desham. Later, the temple was adopted by the Kakatiya kings, who revered Goddess Bhadrakali as their "Kula Devatha." Ganapati deva also constructed a lake next to the temple. The temple lost popularity after Delhi's Muslim rulers ousted the Kakatiya kingdom. Allauddin Khilji and the Kakatiyas established peace in exchange for the diamond and a promise not to be invaded. To personally deliver the gem, he delegated the task to his close ally and slave Malik Kufur. With Gujarati Businessman Shri Maganlal, Sri Ganesh Rao Sastri, a Devi upasaka, rebuilt the temple in 1950. Warangal's Shri Bhadrakali Temple was founded by B. Sameja. In a dream, Bhadrakali Devi blessed Maganlal Sameja and gave her a blessing for temple renovation.
