Steps to apply for Ration Card in Tamil Nadu
To apply for a ration card in Tamil Nadu,1) The applicant must visit the Public Distribution System website
www.tnpds.gov.in.
2) There is a ‘Apply New Smart Card’ option. Just click on it.
3) Now, the applicant can see the application form for the ration card. Provide the
details and upload photos of the head of the family. Other support documents, such as the residence proof,
also must be uploaded. Review the details given and finally submit the application.
4) A reference number
is provided, which can be used to check the status of the application. It usually takes 15 to 30 days to issue the
ration card. TNPDS website can be used to download ration cards. This website also allows making
corrections to the issued ration card.
