Karnataka Nekar Samman Yojana - How to Apply, Eligibility and Benefits: Nekar Samman Yojana is a scheme launched by the Karnataka government for the welfare of
weaver’s community. This scheme is intended to provide financial assistance to weaver’s
community and encourage them to continue the work. There are more than fifty thousand
registered handloom weavers in Karnataka. All of them can avail the benefits of the scheme.
This scheme is a boon to the poor weavers who are badly affected by the lockdown due to
Coronavirus pandemic.
Under the Karnataka Nekar Samman Yojana, the beneficiaries will get Rs. 2000 per year. The amount will be deposited in the bank account of the beneficiary.
Till now more than forty thousand weavers enrolled themselves under SevaSindhu software. More than thirty five thousand applications are already approved. Those who did not register till now also will be covered soon. The scheme is going to help the poor weavers and labourers in the weaving sector. The current estimated cost of the scheme for the government is around Rs. 10.96 cores.

The applicant might need to submit the following documents with the application. These include the Aadhar card, BPL card, residential certificate, photos etc. They will also have to provide the details of the bank account they hold, their mobile number. Signature or thumbprint is also needed.
