How to Apply for Driver cum Owner Scheme in Telangana: Telangana state government initiated many schemes after the formation of the state. One such scheme is the 'Driver cum owner scheme'. The government launched this scheme in united Andhra Pradesh for unemployed youth, but it did not take off. After the formation of Telangana, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation recommended that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao initiate it.

Young people interested in driving can utilize the opportunity and get hired by the government or private companies and cab services. Applying for the Driver cum Owner scheme
Persons interested in applying for the Driver cum Owner program must be between the ages of 21 to 35. They need to have a white ration card and a valid driving license. It is required that they have an experience three years of as a driver. Fifteen per cent of the projectCost needs to be contributed by the applicant, and he should tie up with the bank for eighty-five per cent of the loan amount. The government of Telangana gives subsidies, which can vary depending on the applicant's caste.
When there is a notification for applying to the Driver cum Owner program, the applicants need to approach the concerned GHMC officials. The documents that need to be submitted are a white ration card, driver's license, gas bill/electricity bill or Aadhar card for residence proof and the caste certificate. Other documents required are a voter card/PAN card and two photographs.
Under the Driver cum Owner scheme, unemployed youth, including the SC, ST, and minorities, will be given Maruti Swift Dzire cards, and banks will provide loans. SC and ST candidates can get subsidies on the cost of the vehicle. The first phase of the Driver cum Owner scheme was launched by the deputy CM of Telangana state, and in this phase, 105 vehicles were distributed to the youth. In the second phase, nearly 303 vehicles were distributed to the beneficiaries. Some were engaged in GHMC, and some were hired by OLA Cabs, Sky Cabs, Dot Cabs etc. GHMC hired these for Rs. 25,000 per month, and the cab operators give a business between 45 to 60 thousand rupees per month.
