Nizamabad District With Mandals and Tourist Places in Telangana State: Nizamabad is a well-known royal district in Telangana. It is about 175 km northwest of Hyderabad. The Nizam of Hyderabad, Asaf Jahi VI, who ruled Deccan in the 18th century A.D., gave the District its name, Nizamabad (Nizam-a-Abadi). The name of the District used to be INDUR, which is thought to have come from the name of King Indradatta, who held the region in the 5th century A.D. In 1876, when Sir Salar Jung-I was Prime Minister, the Nizam’s Dominion’s districts were reorganised, and INDUR became one of them.
The Nizamabad district was part of Andhra Pradesh State until June 2, 2014. When Telangana State split into two parts, Nizamabad district became one of those in Telangana State.
